The former residential town on Lake Zierk has become a well-known vacation destination in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern due to its central location and the many different cultural events, so it’s well worth taking a look at the events calendar. Neustrelitz is home to theaters, museums and cultural centers as well as the annual Immergut Festival and the open-air Schlossgarten Festival. From the charter base in Hafendorf Müritz, it’s around 170 kilometers by houseboat on the waterways of the Mecklenburg Lake District.
